So, this does not mean we eat whatever we want whenever we want! Intuitive eating is getting back to your perfectly functioning biological and emotional communicating. It is recognizing when you have true hunger versus habitually grabbing for food just because we are externally prompted to. It means paying attention to your body and what it needs, exploring also the why. This program is especially helpful for those who feel they have tried every diet known to man - lets face it, diets don’t work in the long run. They are also shown to actually increase negative emotional and biological functions AND increase overall weight gain! If you are frustrated with not knowing what, when or how to eat, explore what Intuitive Eating can feel like. Change your relationship with food!! For many of us there is a great deal of shame, guilt AND confusion! Let it go! Lets change it up! Food should bring joy! It should nourish you inside AND out!

What we eat is so personal! It’s the first step in cultivating intuitive eating! When scrolling through the pictures above, ask your self some of these questions. It’s best to do this exercise when you are actually hungry but it can still be useful!

Take your time to explore and even write down your thoughts!

  • What emotions come up for me when I see this food and think about eating it?

  • Which foods initially stimulate my hunger or cravings? Why?

  • What would my self talk be if I ate this food right now?

  • What is it about this food that I like or dislike?

  • Does this food look inviting? Why?

  • Do I eat this food when I am happy?

  • Do I eat this food when I am down?

  • Is this food a trigger for me?

  • What foods draw me in when I need comfort foods?
