Yoga is…...

Come practice and play with us!

Join us in an invigorating Astanga based practice while you play within your own abilities while leaning in towards humor on the more challenging poses. Class size is small, with a strong focus on personal support and learning. Monday mornings offer a 75 minute class that will get your body moving at a steady pace while safely preparing for peak poses then slowing it down to cool the body and allow it to settle into a 10 minute savasana. Wednesday evenings offer two options for practice, at 5:45, a warmer version of the above sequencing but also allows for students to continue into a 40 minute restorative practice after their Astanga based flow. This restorative, which includes gentle massage and aromatherapy to end your evening and fully prepare your body for complete relaxation and may be practiced separately or in addition to the Astanaga based practice.

It usually begins with understanding how our body embraces or detaches from certain Yoga poses. We get excited, deflated and then excited again when, with steady practice, we make physical strides and we feel an improvement structurally. Often after a period of time, we want to know more. We study the philosophy or the texts of Ancient Yoga, bringing us to more questions but, with a focus of going deeper, beyond the superficial layers of our outer shell, our appearance, our physical form. It is all a journey. It is important to have guidance and support at times in this journey. Whether its going deeper into your practice or picking up your first copy of the Bhagavad Gita, I welcome sharing my knowledge and also learning from you.

Why Yoga Mentoring Sessions Work

Have you ever considered taking a private yoga class and wondered if it’s really worth the money? Let’s face it, we all could use a little support. There are a lot of things that I can’t do, and even as a Yoga teacher there are a lot of postures that, although I can instruct, I may never be able to do to perfection because of my body structure, strengths and weaknesses. Personal sessions with my teachers have been invaluable for my practice and my alignment. At the very least, even having as little as ONE private Yoga session can have potentially long lasting effects. Lets boost your confidence, decrease possible injury, increase the success of building a regular practice and help you reach your personal goals faster and safely. As a 500 hour RYT and licensed massage therapist I have the anatomical and yogic knowledge to guide you in your understanding of the postural body mechanics, tools to help you release your fears about more challenging postures and establish a practice with curiosity, excitement and grace. Here are some of examples of how an in depth, personal session can help you.
